This is a gem. This delicately carved mirror still retains a subtle layer of silver, but much of it has worn down to the red and yellow undercoat. The frame is topped by an elaborate crown featuring three fleurettes that show deeply carved relief. The crown and the tip of the crown had broken previously and there is a hairline that appears in both places, but they are not conspicuous given the age of the piece. Spline construction. Original mercury glass. Good condition. (FS)
