FRENCH CARVED LAUREL WREATH MIRROR

Hand-carved overlapping laurel leaves and berries comprise this classical and gorgeous oval-shaped frame. The carved leaves convey movement and seem to layer naturally along the frame’s profile. The frame is oil gilded for a matte finish with the exception of the top leaf, which is water gilded and appears shiny. The old and possibly original mercury glass mirror shows some spotting. Wooden backing. One berry and a part of a leaf are missing on the lower left side, but overall very good condition.
