CARVED WOOD LOUIS XVI FRAME

This thick wood 18th Century Louis XVI frame has been stripped of all of its gilding materials and provides a stellar example of the fine and consistent craftsmanship that goes into the hand chiseling of an antique frame. Running borders of egg and dart and leaf tips typify the Louis XVI style. Traces of gesso remain in the pores of the pine and lend a somewhat rustic appearance to this otherwise elegant frame. Mirror glass provided.
