Pottery vessels such as this 19th Century milk pitcher come from the Alsace region of the French Alps. The intermingling swirls of green and crème glaze epitomizes the jaspé technique that is unique to France. These pitchers brought color and cheer into the modest farm kitchens of rural regions. Today, this milk pitcher is effectively displayed as a rustic counterpoint in a modern kitchen. Very good condition with some age-related wear to rim and spout.
