ANTIQUE SWEDISH BRIDE'S BOX

A somewhat rustic olive painted oval bride's box in pine with sewn seams and carved detail at the joining. Simple cream and red painted decoration on the removable lid. Reads "GED 1836". Hand-forged iron handle. Such boxes were made by the groom for his bride's dowry.
